Parents of Skydiver File Suit

December 5, 2007 -

The parents of a skydiver who was killed in a Cessna Caravan plane crash in October recently filed a suit.

The suit has been filed against the manufacturer's of the plane, Cessna Aircraft Company.

Plane Crashes in Washington

Bryan Jones, a 34-year-old Microsoft engineer was one of nine skydivers on the plane the day of the fatal crash.

The plane reportedly crashed 45 miles west of Yakima, near the Goat Rocks Wilderness Area and all 10 people aboard the aircraft were killed.

According to reports, no flight plan had been filed before the flight took off.

Parents Mourn Loss and File Suit

Jones' parents filed the suit claiming that the plane was defective and shouldn't have been able to fly in the icy weather.

Jones took over 1,000 jumps throughout his life and helped lead the Seattle Skydivers Club.

“He was pretty dedicated,” explained Shawn Starr, a fellow skydiver. “He would sit in traffic for hours just to make one jump at sunset.”

His parents have filed the suit seeking compensation for the pain and suffering he experienced along with their loss of companionship.
