Mother of Plane Crash Victim Files Suit

May 2 , 2007 -

The mother of a young man who died in a plane crash off the coast of Fort Lauderdale has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the estate of the pilot, who was also killed in the crash.

Michael Gross, 22, was one of five men who died on April 21st when the small plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean.

The lawsuit filed by his mother, Kim Gross, claims that pilot Glen Quackenbush, 35, was negligent for operating the plane in turbulent weather when he didn’t have the experience or proper certification to do so.

The complaint additionally states that the aircraft was overcrowded with passengers and luggage.

“This flight should not have taken off. It was a recipe for disaster,” said Gross’ attorney Jay Cohen.
